Kickof! Guiyang - capital of Guizhou

Just a stone's throw*...

…or rather a monkey jump – because there are plenty of them in Guiyang. Especially in the enchanting park, where our first route took us, past food stalls, small shops, high-rise buildings in the making – Guiyang is growing! First impressions of China – open your mouth, open your eyes – marvel!   *Flight time Beijing -> Guiyang approx. 3h / 99 $

``Forest-town`` Guiyang

… is the capital and economic center of Guizhou province – with over 3 million inhabitants. Around 23,000 Chinese study at the local university, some of whom we should get to know all too soon. Worth seeing: “Pavilion of the Literati”, Qianling Mountain and Qianlingshan Park. Fun fact: Apple stores its Chinese customers‘ icloud data here.

Trip to past - Tunbao Culture in Yunshantun

Meet Ming Dynasty

Established in the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), Yunshantun is the best-preserved village showcasing Tunbao culture. As one of the brilliant pearls among the Yunfeng Eight Villages, its grandeur and beauty have long captivated legions of visitors. A tangible testament to the remnants of military and commercial plans established during the Ming Dynasty and a typical representation of Tunbao culture, Yunshantun has preserved gatehouses and towers, walls, ancient streets and window rooms in the architectural style of Jiangnan (south of the Yangtze River), seamlessly integrated with brick towers and stone and wood carvings. ( Text China Daily )

Guiness Book...

In 2000, the village was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest and most complete cluster of early Ming Dynasty Tuanbao cultural villages, and in 2001 it was designated a National Key Cultural Heritage Protection Unit by the State Council.

By integrating art into rural construction and promoting the integrated development of agriculture, culture, and tourism, the village has transformed abandoned houses into cultural and creative spaces. It has hosted large-scale exhibitions and become a national extracurricular research and practice education base for primary and secondary students.
